College of Oxford graduate Avril Powell marked her 101st birthday at Cavell Courtroom, Cringleford, on April 26 with cake, sweets and decorations.
She explained: “I experienced a wonderful day celebrating with my household and friends.”

Avril was born in Exeter in 1921 and was a person of two little ones.
She went to research classics at the University of Oxford in advance of working as a teacher.
She married spouse Ray in 1942. The few had 4 little ones: Anne, Frances, Nicky and Ted.
