A pet dog which is ‘strongly suspected’ to have been stolen to be breed new puppies is back at with her loving Scots spouse and children right after a few months.
Skye, the cocker spaniel, was nabbed from the back garden kennels in Fordoun, Laurencekirk, Aberdeenshire in November and had not been viewed considering the fact that.
But cops searched an address in Brechin yesterday and found the dog around ten miles from residence.
Police say she was recovered harmless and well and returned to her operator but it is strongly suspected that she experienced been stolen for breeding reasons due to the coronavirus rocketing the cost of puppies.
A 25-calendar year-aged person was arrested and charged, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The Missing Animals Dundee and Angus Facebook group announced the very good news but stated the canine was discovered heavily pregnant.
They wrote: “Stolen Skye has been reuniited with her father this early morning after nearly 11 weeks following being stolen from the Stonehaven spot.
“Police contacted Alan this morning as he waited to see her.
“We are thrilled to bits Sky will now be risk-free and liked yet again. Hoping she will also get better totally immediately after the delivery of her pups.”
Inspector Allen Shaw, Stonehaven Community Policing Crew, reported: “We know the massive psychological effects that any canine theft has on their owners and we are delighted to have been in a position to return Skye safely and securely.
“We will normally robustly go after all strains of enquiry to return any assets to its rightful owner I would like to thank all users of the public who assisted us all over this investigation.”
