Following a significant refurbishment, The Bull on Bell Avenue in Henley has reopened and we were being invited to get in the new makeover and menu.
We made a decision to sit in the new outdoor space, named the Courtyard, which was embellished with plants, a h2o attribute and a retractable roof.
In advance of ordering meals, we selected the residence white wine which was incredibly clean and went down a treat.
Being a enormous cheese supporter, the hand slice halloumi fries had been a no brainer for me as a starter. Six significant fries were being served with a jalapeno ketchup which paired properly with the cheese.
I struggled to finish the generous plate but my friend, who was equally obsessed with the cheesy fries, aided herself to a next serving.
Costing £8, I would propose sharing with your day so you can save a lot more area for your main.
As a vegetarian, I was delighted to see the variety of dishes I could pick out for my primary from a quinoa grain bowl to a back garden pea and asparagus risotto.
Irrespective of the selection, I continue to I went for the traditional margherita pizza produced with Italian tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil and a sourdough base.
The pizza was also generously sized and I did my best to energy by means of the light-weight but delightful main.

It cost a sensible £12 considering the dimension of the meal specially when as opposed with the likes of Domino’s.
My mate requested the lightly spiced vegan burger, costing £15, which was served with pores and skin-on seasoned fries.
She was upset with the burger expressing she’d have favored a meat different these as Quorn but she comprehensively liked the fries which had been lightly coated with parmesan.
For dessert we decided to go for the apple crumble with a honeycomb major and vanilla seed ice cream costing £8.
We also requested the sticky toffee pudding with glazed bananas, butterscotch sauce and Brakspear beer ice product, also costing £8.
The sticky toffee pudding was the winner for me. It was gooey, warm and paired properly with the glazed bananas. I was fearful the pudding would be much too sickly but I completed the good deal with no problems.
The apple crumble was great as properly but the honeycomb was an unconventional pairing and the further fruit in the pudding designed for an odd texture.

Overall the food was a delight but the starters and desserts have been a minor pricey. Even so, it would be somewhere I’d visit yet again for a fancier celebratory event.
